Ronan Vandrer

Billedkunstner, kunsthåndværker med fascination af materialet bronze,
dedikeret til nu’et.
Efter en årrække som keramiker, hvor en stor del
af produktionen var keramiske skulpturer, ønskede jeg at finde et mere
stabilt materiale end leret.
Fra keramikken kommer modellering, form, gipsarbejde, kemi – og fra
smedesiden svejsning, metal og pladebearbejdning.
Det gi’r mulighed for at håndtere alle skulpturens faser, fra skitse
til form - til støbning, efterbehandling, patinering og den endelige
montering af værket.
Og så ikke mindst – mulighed for at arbejde spontant i det
uforudsigelige og det ikke kortlagte.

Visual art designer, handicraft producer with a fascination of the material bronze and a dedication to the “NOW”
After a number of years as a potter with a large production of especially ceramic sculptures I wished to find a more solid material than clay.
The casting of bronze is a fascinating process, starting with the soft formable wax to end up with a fixed and constant sculpture – and it unites two craftmanships into one expression.
From ceramics comes modelling, form, work with plaster, chemistry and from the smithside: welding, metal – and metalsheet preparation.
It makes it possible to hand all processes in the creation of the sculpture from draft to form, from casting to aftercare, patination and the final erection of the work itself.
At the same time it leaves the creator free to work spontaneously with the unforeseeable and the not planned.
